Brief description of the main scopes:

I am doing research on ecological physiology of aquatic plants in freshwater environments. My research focuses on the influence of biotic and abiotic factors on growth, production and distribution of macrophytes. I work with effect of nutrients, light environment of water on submerged-emergent macrophytes. Interested in interclonal, interspecific competition of macrophytes. Work with phenology of macrophytes, as well as with all aspecty of phenotypic plasticity. Interested also in morphological and physiological variability of native and invasive macrophytes.

Mostly studied species:

  • Phragmites australis
  • Potamogeton perfoliatus
  • Myriophyllum spicatum
  • Ludwigia grandiflora
  • Trapa natns
  • Nelumbo nucifera
  • Nuphar lutea

Main profile in keywords:
limnology; plant ecophysiology; macrophyte ecology; macrophyte phenology; vegetation remote sensing; interactions in the littoral zone; shallow lake ecosystem research; phenotypic plasticity; morphological, phenological and physiological variability
