Research Description |
|
I studie the embryonic development of Lymnaea stagnalis. My main
research interests are to describe the role of three
neurotransmitters (serotonin, dopamin and octopamine) in
embryogenesis of Lymnaea stagnalis. These biogen amines are
important modulators of different forms of behaviours (locomotion,
feeding, respiration) as well as the embryonic development in this
snail species. In the project biochemical and immuncytochemical
methods are used as tools to study effects of amines. I treat the
embryos with these amines and their agonists and antagonists to
characterize the influence of these amines on behaviours during
embryonic lifespan. The changes of behaviours are observed using
stereomicroscop. On the other hand, I also treat the embryos with
nuerotoxins and enzyme inhibitors and I investigate the change in
the length of embryonic life, as well as I use HPLC for the
detection and quantification of transmitters to clear, whether or
not they have effect on different developmental stages. |
